2020 MTF Surf Fishing Tournament Rules & Regulations

All participants must register online at www.morethanfishing.net.

Participants must obtain valid 2020 California fishing license, (15yrs old below not required).

Participants under 17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent / guardian. Waiver forms/ parental consent must be signed before the tournament.

Attendees must obey all State of California fishing regulations (DCFW) www.wildlife.ca.gov/Fishing/Ocean

All participants must be present during the orientation.

QUALIFYING ENTRY:
STRIPED BASS (catch and release only)- minimum length of 20 inches
Surf Perch (catch and release only) – minimum length of 12 inches

Barred Surf Perch
Redtail Surf Perch
Calico Surf Perch
Silver Surf Perch
Walleye Surf Perch
Rainbow Surf Perch

All fish must be line-caught with the designated one (1) fishing rod and reel using Bait or Lure

Only one (1) fishing rod is allowed per person for the duration of the event. However, participants are allowed to use two (2) rods if they signed up for Striped Bass and Surf Perch events

All fish must be caught from shore. Fish taken from boats, personal watercraft, trolling methods, gill-netting methods, etc. are not permitted.

Participants may fish at ANY beach outside of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fish may not be taken from the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay shores or other inland waterways. Fish may not be taken from Jetties, Piers or other structures where a CA fishing license is not required.

All fish (entries) MUST be filmed/video-ed alive during the catch and release.

All MTF OFFICIAL requirements must be VISIBLE in the video clip(s), before it can be counted as entry. (Dead fish are not qualified entry).

MTF Video clip image requirements:
1. 2020 More Than Fishing ID Badge
2. MTF Official Measuring Tape
3. Your catch: catching the fish and releasing the fish

Any video entry that is missing any requirement will be automatically disqualified.

All qualifying video clip(s) must be UPLOADED or submitted ONLY at morethanfishing.net (link will be provided) by 3pm. Competitor in the video must be present at the official table by 3pm.

Video uploading opens from 7:00am and closes at 3:00pm.

Winners to be determined by longest fish caught, as measured from tip of mouth to farthest tip of fin. The longest fish caught will be declared the winning entries of the 2020 MORE THAN FISHING Surf Fishing Tournament. In case of a tie in length, the winner will be determined by whoever submitted first.

ACCURACY CASTING
Fastest to land the lure in the bucket.
Top 10 fastest will qualified for the 1v1 finals.
All decisions by the judges are final.

All competitors are expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner. Anyone who violates the tournament rules will be automatically disqualified from this event and may be barred from participating in future More Than Fishing events.

All competitors/participants fishing in 2020 More Than Fishing Surf fishing tournament agree to do so at their own risk. More Than Fishing, its owner, partners, sponsors or volunteers are in no way liable for any injuries or accidents that may occur during the act of fishing or traveling, walking, boating or kayaking to or from a fishing location.

By registering to the 2020 More Than Fishing Surf Fishing Tournament, you agree to indemnify and defend More Than Fishing, its owner and/or volunteers against all claims, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses, including attorney fees and other litigation costs which may, in any way, arise from your participation in the More Than Fishing tournament.
