2024 More Than Fishing Surf Fishing Tournament: A Celebration of Skill, Community, and Conservation

On June 8-9, Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, CA, was the epicenter of the 2024 More Than Fishing Surf Fishing Tournament, a spectacular event that brought together fishing enthusiasts from all over. The beach buzzed with excitement as participants cast their lines, hoping to reel in the biggest catch and claim top honors.

Fans had the opportunity to interact with their favorite YouTubers, who together boast a combined 2.5 million subscribers.

This year’s tournament not only celebrated the champions but also successfully raised funds for the Pacific Beach Coalition, which is dedicated to preserving the ocean, coastal habitat, and wildlife, and ending litter through advocacy, education, community building, and citizen action. The event continues to grow in popularity and participation, underscoring its significance in the fishing community.

We also extend a special thank you to Matt Doylemason, our audio-visual producer, who assisted in the live interviews of our guests. His expertise ensured that the interviews were seamlessly conducted and enjoyed by all.

The More Than Fishing Surf Fishing Tournament, now in its eighth year, was founded by husband and wife duo Jun Quitain and Sunshine Quitain. Their mission is to share knowledge about fishing, recommend reliable equipment, and foster a safe and kind community. The tournament aims to create a good community among fishing enthusiasts, raise awareness about proper fishing practices, and promote the Conservancy Code of Ethics in sport fishing.
