I hope this message finds you well, safe and healthy.
It’s been weeks since I last communicated with you in regards to the postponement of our 2020 MTF Surf Fishing Tournament and Expo due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We’ve all borne witness as to how this virus has impacted our way of life.
Sadly, for this year, I’ve made a difficult decision to reschedule our 5th Annual MTF Surf Fishing Tournament to Summer of 2021.
While I had hoped to continue the tournament before the Striped Bass season ends, the recent rise of Covid-19 cases these past few days have made me revisit the one of the tenets and mission of More Than Fishing – to create a friendly fishing community, a safe community. More Than Fishing’s top priority is no longer limited to the safety and well-being of all participants, judges and volunteers, but of our community as well.
I apologize for the inconvenience and seek for your understanding.
Paid entries will automatically be transferred over to our tournament next year. Exact dates will be announced as soon as we have the venues and permits confirmed. All paid registrants for next year will automatically receive all the free tournament merchandise for the first paid registrants (i.e. hat, t-shirt…etc). The entry fee on our past tournaments have always had a non-refundable policy. However, at this time, we will be granting refunds to those who would request it. Every year, I wholeheartedly look forward for this tournament as we continue to build and broaden our outreach in fishing. My hope is that you and your loved ones are safe and doing well.
